The
Balbriggan Formula Fun Team is gearing up for an imaginative and exciting initiative,
based around road safety is set to bring fun, enjoyment and community spirit to
the centre of Balbriggan. Organised pedal go-kart races will take place on Sunday
24th July 2011 which are bound to create great excitement in the town.
This
event is totally free and is an opportunity for Balbriggan to showcase its exceptional
community spirit, which was so evident during the recent Summerfest. It will take
place between 12:00 noon and 8:00 pm in the town centre. The racetrack will
run from the top of Quay Street to the Viaduct. How

is by way of Registration
Form only. A
lottery will then take place to decide who the lucky winners are and who will
race for glory. - The age
groups are 8 to 9, 10 to 11, 12 to 13 and 14 to 15.
- Following
the heats, the winners of each heat will advance to the final.
- There
will also be novelty races for over 16's and Traders Racers too!
As
there is expected to be huge interest in the event, registration to compete in
the races will take place the day on Saturday 16th July 2011 from 12:00 noon to
2:00pm. Registration forms to be submitted
to the reception desk at Balbriggan Town Hall before 2:00pm on Saturday 16th July

A carnival atmosphere is expected and well known
rocker, Brush Shields and his band, Skid Row will be the headline act for the
day. Family fun and musical entertainment will be provided in the Quay
Street car parks. There will also be an opportunity for younger children to pedal
mini go-karts on a junior race track. To add to the family fun, there will
be bouncy castles, face painting, a food and craft fair, as well as a motor exhibitors'
